“Being a young commissioner is good because it allows us to have a tangible say and opinion on the things that affect us and it gives an opportunity to solve issues around us.”

Meet the Young Commissioners

We know that young people often feel that their voice is not heard in their local community. Once you become a Young Commissioner, you have the chance to tell us how you really feel and make a difference in Broadland. You will get together with other Young Commissioners and board members at regular YAB meetings, where you will advise us about what young people want and help to decide which projects to fund. To help us come up with fantastic plans for young people, Young Commissioners also ask their pals and peers for their opinions and advice on issues in Broadland. As a team, we will visit projects that you have funded, to find out what you think of them in practice!

Also, to make sure that the maximum amount of Broadland’s young people are benefiting from these brilliant projects and ideas, your job will also be to help promote the YAB to other young people! As well as making a difference in Broadland, the YAB offers great opportunities to meet new people and see your friends as we regularly meet both socially and for YAB meetings. Also, we run regular residentials where our Young Commissioners get involved in fun activities.
