If you’re aged 13-25 why not get involved with the 2018 summer reading challenge and volunteer to help children keep up their literacy and learn or continue to love reading!
This is a great role to take on if you enjoy reading and have good communication skills that you can use to work with young people and their families.
The list below sets out what the role involves:
- Help sign children up to the Summer Reading Challenge
- Help them choose great books to read
- Talk to young people about what they are reading and why they enjoy it
- Suggest new titles that young people might like
Volunteering is a commitment and you’ll need to be able to offer 2-4 hours of your time a week from the end of July to the beginning of September, however it is also of course a very rewarding experience and can look great on a CV! It’s also something rewarding to do with all your free time over the summer.
